Murchison Falls Helicopter Flight — Packages & Prices

Three ways to experience Murchison Falls from the air, from a short aerial pass to a full private-charter day. All flights are chartered per aircraft, not sold per seat — full pricing, capacity, and what's included below.

Package 1 — Aerial Pass

From $ per helicopter (up to 4 passengers) · Duration: approx. 45 minutes in the air

A direct scenic pass over the falls and the Lake Albert Delta — the shortest way to see the gorge, the Devil's Cauldron, and the surrounding savanna from above. Best for travellers with limited time, or as a one-way transfer that replaces a 5–6 hour road transfer between Entebbe/Kajjansi and the park.

Includes: Private helicopter charter, pilot, fuel, landing fees Excludes: Ground transfers to/from the helipad, meals, park entrance fees

Package 2 — Aerial Pass + Private Bush Lunch

From $ per helicopter (up to 4 passengers) · Duration: half-day (approx. 4 hours door to door)

The signature experience: the same aerial pass over the falls and delta, followed by landing in the bush for a private, freshly prepared lunch with a bottle of champagne, set with panoramic views and no other travellers in sight. This is the package most suited to honeymoons, anniversaries, and special-occasion travellers.

Includes: Private helicopter charter, pilot, fuel, landing fees, private bush lunch, champagne, dedicated ground staff at the lunch site Excludes: Ground transfers to/from the helipad, park entrance fees, gratuities

Package 3 — Full-Day Multi-Point Charter

From $ per helicopter (up to 4 passengers) · Duration: full day

For travellers wanting to combine the aerial experience with additional stops — an extra landing point for a game drive, a second park (Queen Elizabeth or Kidepo), or a scenic detour along the Rift Valley escarpment. Built as a custom itinerary around your priorities rather than a fixed route.

Includes: Private helicopter charter, pilot, fuel, landing fees, bush lunch Excludes: Ground activities at additional stops (game drives, park fees), accommodation if overnighting away from your base lodge

All prices are per aircraft, not per person — for a group of 3–4, this often works out more cost-effective than it first appears.

Frequently asked questions

Is this suitable for a family with children? Yes, though weight limits and seating capacity apply per aircraft — let us know ages and numbers when enquiring so we can confirm the right package.

What happens if the flight is cancelled for weather? Your operator will reschedule where possible within your stay. Confirm the specific cancellation and rescheduling policy at the time of booking.

Can this replace a road transfer into the park? Yes — Package 1 in particular works well as a scenic one-way transfer between Entebbe/Kajjansi and Murchison Falls, cutting a multi-hour drive down to under an hour in the air.

Do you need to combine this with an overnight stay at a specific lodge? No, but several lodges (Nile Safari Lodge among them) have their own helipads, which can simplify pickup and drop-off if you're already staying there.
