Queen's Track is the shortest of Murchison Falls' named game routes, drivable in well under an hour, but it's disproportionately well regarded for lion sightings — some of the park's most memorable lion encounters, including lionesses with cubs, have been reported here. The surrounding bush is thought to offer good cover for lionesses preparing to give birth, which may explain the track's reputation.
No permanent water points sit directly on the track, so sightings can thin out in the driest stretches of the dry season, but the route's connections to both Victoria and Albert Tracks mean it's rarely driven in isolation — most guides link it into a longer combined route rather than treating it as a standalone loop. Early morning, when light is soft and animals are still active, is the best time to drive it.
